On Thursday, June 13, the Inspector of Schools in Kamrup (Metro) district of Assam has directed the schools not to schedule any examination during 22nd June to 26th June, 2024. The Inspector of schools has directed the decision due to Ambubachi Mela.
The decision aims to avoid inconvenience to students due to the large number of devotees expected in Guwahati for the religious event.
He also stated if any school has scheduled any exam on these dates, they are requested to reschedule the examination date.
The School Inspector has send a letter by stating, โI would like to inform you that schools are requested not to schedule any examination during 22nd June to 26th June, 2024 on account of ambubachi. Further, if any schools have already scheduled examination on the above mentioned dates are hereby asked to re-schedule the examination. It has been decided in order to avoid any inconveniences to the students which may arise due to heavy flow of devotees from all India to Guwahati Assam.โ
The Ambubachi Mela is a religious festival where many devotees from different region of Country come to be part of the Mela. The Mela has took place in Guwahati temple of Maa Kamakhya. This year the Ambubachi Mela has fall on June 22, 2024.
