Jammu & Kashmir Terrorist Attack: Terrorist open fire at the Tourist on Tuesday in the area of upper meadows of Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley, Jammu & Kashmir. One tourist killed in the attack and at least 12 injured.
The Gunshots of the terrorist attack was heard in the upper meadows of Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley. The area can only be reached by walking or riding a horse. group of tourists had gone there this morning, officials said.
An eyewitness said that unknown gunmen fired at the tourists from close range, causing injuries.
The security forces immediately rushed to the spot where the terrorist took place.
In an video in social media we saw that a woman, crying helplessly. She has been seen plead for her husband to be rescued, who was injured in gunshot.
Pahalgam is a popular tourist place known for its forests, clear lakes, and wide meadows.
Meanwhile, a doctor at Pahalgam hospital told TOI that at least 12 tourists were injured and taken to the hospital. All of them are in stable condition.
A woman survivor told PTI over the phone, “My husband was shot in the head while seven others were also injured in the attack”.
According to the news agency, the woman asked for help to take the injured to the hospital. The report also said that shortly before the attack, security forces had gone to the Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam after hearing gunshots, a senior police officer said.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “I’m shocked beyond belief. This attack on our visitors is an abomination. The perpetrators of this attack are animals, inhuman & worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathies to the families of the deceased. I’ve spoken to my colleague @sakinaitoo & she has moved to the hospital to oversee arrangements for the injured. I’ll be flying back to Srinagar immediately.”
