An MSc- second year student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi found died by suicide at his hostel room, Delhi Police said on Wednesday. He died by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room.
The 21 years old IIT student was from Deoghar in Jharkhand, identified as Yash Kumar.
According to police, when his friend found his room locked from inside, the friend and IIT staff broke the window to enter and saw him hanging.
They immediately took the student in the Safdarjung hospital by college ambulance, but the doctors declared him brought dead.
While no suicide note found inside the room. As per medical report he had been undergoing psychiatric treatment and has fixed appointment on October 29.
The body of the IIT Delhi student has kept in a mortuary and his parents of the student have been informed about the student.
As per Delhi police, a mobile crime team inspected the room but they didnโt found any suicide note by the deceased.
The police also recorded statement of deceasedโs friend.
Further investigation is going on under section 194 of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita by the officials.
