A horrific incident took place in Dholai area of Cachar district, Assam, where a husband cut his wife hand, suspecting her of cheating.
The victim woman is currently under medical treatment in Gauhati Medical College and hospital. The brutal attack took place on Thursday night in the Jamalpur Forest Village under the jurisdiction of Dholai Police Station, Cachar.
Victim woman the mother of three children was attacked by a sharp weapon, which results multiple injuries, which include cut of hands and blindness of one eye.
The incident is domestic violence, where husband beat and cut his wife’s hand. After the crime the accused Husband, Rafiquddin flee from the scene.
According to information, the victim married Raffiquddin 6 years ago and they had three children. Victim’s paternal home is in Rajnagar village, under Rajnagar Gram Panchayat, in the Dholai police station area. shortly after married Raffiquddin began working in Bangalore. During this period, his frequently absence led to increased suspicions of infidelity, which caused him to accused her wife of having external affairs. This suspect leads to frequent quarrel among them.
Rafiquddin, primarily a day labourer, who work in Bangalore last two to three years due to his work. When he came home he abused the victim due to suspect of cheating. Unable to endure her husband’s abuse, victim left their home and went back to her parents. About six months ago, they reached a settlement through mediation, and victim returned to live with her husband. However, according to Ruby’s maternal uncle, after Ruby returned, Rafiquddin went back to Bangalore.
He came back one and half month ago and again started quarreled, accusing her of infidelity. He physically assaulted her. On Thursday again argument broke out, on which he attacked her with sharp weapon which left her injured and cut her hands and made her one eye blind. After doing this incident he flee from the scene.
After rafiquddin fled from the scene the victim and children cried out. The neighbour listen the cried of victim and children and rushed to scene. They saw victim lying on the pool of blood inside the house. By then she lost her consciousness.
The neighbour informed the victim’s family and rushed her to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Due to severe and critical injury the Sichar Medical College and hospital has transferred her to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile the family had not filed FIR, but Police are investigating the matter and launched search operation to catch Rafiquddin.
