Security forces on Thursday demolished the Pulwama residence of Umar Mohammed, also known as Umar un-Nabi, the key accused behind the car blast near Delhi ’s historic Red Fort. The action took place early in the morning in Koli Village of south Kashmir. This incident marking yet another major crackdown on individuals accused of aiding terror-related activities.

The explosion on Monday evening near Netaji Subhash Marg, Red Fort left 13 people dead and over 20 injured, prompting a large-scale investigation. Officials confirmed that Umar, a doctor associated with Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was driving the Hyundai i20 that blew up near the Red Fort traffic signal. His identity was verified after DNA samples collected from the blast site matched those taken from his mother.

According to security officials, the demolition in Kashmir, part of a broader strategy meant to send a clear message against those allegedly supporting terror modules in the region. Similar actions were taken earlier in connection with the Pahalgam terror plot.

The Red Fort blast came just hours after investigators recovered around 2,900 kg of explosive-making materials and a cache of sophisticated weapons, including assault rifles. The recovery made from Muzammil and Shaheen Saeed, both doctors and close associates of Umar. They currently in custody and interrogated to uncover the full scale of the conspiracy.

Investigative agencies suspect that the module, reportedly linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, was planning a much larger attack. Officials believe the Delhi blast may have occurred after Umar allegedly panicked following the arrest of his associates in Faridabad.

The developments have highlighted a worrying trend: terror networks appear to be recruiting highly educated professionals, including doctors, to execute sophisticated operations. The twin incidents—the explosives haul in Faridabad and the Red Fort blast—have prompted heightened vigilance and intensified searches for the remaining members of the suspected module.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, with more arrests and actions likely in the coming days.
