A major drug bust has been reported from Guwahati’s Hatigaon area, where authorities seized a large consignment of heroin valued at ₹3.5 crore. Acting on reliable intelligence, Dispur Police nabbed a drug supplier identified as Sajju Rahman, a resident of Cachar district.
Rahman was initially intercepted near Lakshmi Nagar Police Point, where he was found carrying seven packets of heroin. Following his arrest, police launched a raid at Bahini Hotel in Hatigaon, where Rahman had been staying. The operation led to the recovery of an additional 29 packets of heroin.
Police have also confiscated the vehicle used for transporting the illegal substances. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace the network involved.
