Helicopter Crash in Pune: 2 pilots, engineer killed

Today, October 2 a helicopter crash in Pune districts of Maharashtra, where two pilots and one aircraft maintenance engineer died.

The incident took place at around 6:45 am in hilly terrain in Bavdhan area after helicopter Agusta 109 (VT-EVV) took off from Oxford helipad at a golf course in vicinity to Juhu in Mumbai.

About 20 nautical miles away from Oxford Helipad, the helicopter crashed into the hilly area.

The Crash helicopter was carrying three people on board, they are two pilots, Paramjit Singh and G K Pillai and one engineer, Pritam Bharadwaj.

Chief fire officer, Devendra Prabhakar Potphode stated ANI, “When we reached the spot, we saw that the chopper had crashed and all its parts had scattered. There was a smouldering fire. We were able to extract three casualties, and these were handed over to the police…Other information is yet to be ascertained.”

After the accident the fire broke out in the helicopter.

The exact cause of the crash is not yet been found, police said that dense fog might be led to the mishap.
