A devastating news came, where a Hailakandi business man died in the stampede incident that took place in the early morning of Wednesday. At least 15 feared dead in this stampede incident.

The Hailakandi businessman identified as Niti Ranjan Paul, owner of ‘Om Sweets,’ lost his life in a stampede at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The tragic incident occurred as he was heading for a holy dip on the night of Mauni Amavasya, amid lakh gathered for the ritual bathing.

The stampede reportedly took place at around 1 am.

Niti Ranjan Paul has travelled to Prayagraj, in Kumbh Mela to take part of Amrit Snan during Mauni Amavasya, which considered to be the most significant ritual. CM Aditya Nath appeal devotees, “do not try to go towards Sangam Nose.” He stated, “Maha Kumbh-2025, dear devotees come to Prayagraj, Take bath at the ghat of Mother Ganga near which you are, do not try to go towards Sangam Nose. All of you should follow the instructions of the administration and cooperate in making arrangements. People are bathing peacefully at all the ghats of Sangam. Do not pay any attention to any rumours.”
