Guwahati Stock Scam: On November 14, morning another stock broking scam unfolded in Guwahati after DB Stock scam. A Stock promoter has been accused of looting the public by promising to double their money within three months.
A Woman, who once worked as a manager at DB Stock, is now accused of stealing crores from people through her company, AD Stock Broking Financial Services Private Limited.
This scam started when the woman opened an office in Hengrabari, in the Syndicate Orchid apartment complex. She promised people that their money would double in three months if they invested with her. She offered 13% monthly interest, plus an extra 11% during a special Janmashtami offer from August 28 to September 8, 2023. For about two years, she paid the promised interest to the investors, making them trust her business.
However, since July this year, the payments stopped. Soon after, Alpana Das shut down her office and left Guwahati, taking a large amount of money with her. Many people from outside Assam had also invested in her company, making the scam even bigger.
This scam is very similar to the DB Stock case, where the company owner also disappeared with people’s money. Many victims have filed complaints at the Dispur police station, but the police have not yet been able to find Das.
