Guwahati Police on Tuesday night shoot on a bike theft while he was trying to flee from the scene at Jorabhat, outskirts Guwahati.
According to source, Baptistha police have arrested three bike thieves during an operation. However, while being taken into custody, one of the suspects, Babu attacked a police officer and tried to escape. In response, the police shot him in the leg.
Some police officers also suffered minor injuries during the incident. Babu was then taken into custody and sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.
An investigation is ongoing to uncover more details.
