Guillain-Barre Syndrome disease, a rare neurological disorder has reported 101 cases in Pune, Maharashtra, India on Sunday.
A State official said PTI, โThe total number of GBS cases Sunday increased to 101, comprising 68 males and 33 females. Of these, 16 patients are on ventilator support. One suspected death has reported in Solapur.โ
Maharashtraโs Solapur has reported its first suspected death. It has reported that a man suspected who have contracted Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) has died in Solapur, Maharashtra. An health official said that the suspected GBS reported death man had come to Pune, where he suspected to be contracted the disease.
After the case of Guillain-Barre Syndrome reported, Maharashtra health authorities has began door-to-door surveys. The began the survey steps for looking the signs of infection and raising awareness among the people of the state. Official said that Municipal and District health workers has surveyed at least 7,200 homes in two days.
The state health department’s analysis shows the age breakdown of 101 patients since the beginning: 19 are under 9 years old, 15 are aged 10-19, 20 are aged 20-29, 13 are aged 30-39, 12 are aged 40-49, 13 are aged 50-59, 8 are aged 60-69, and 1 patient is aged 70-80.
