It also celebrated by the Konkani diaspora. Gudi Padwa, also known as Ugadi, Yugadi, or Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. It marks the beginning of the Marathi New Year according to the lunisolar calendar. The festival usually falls in March or April, marking the arrival of spring.
