It is time say good buy to toll hassle, as Government of India is planning to introduce annual and lifetime toll passes for private car owners. This will be good news for the people who frequently travel via National Highways from place to place.

This initiative aims to eliminate the jam during toll payments, providing hassle free travel for commuters across national highways.

Introducing Annual and Life time Toll Passes

The Ministry of Road and Transport set to roll out soon new annual toll pass and 15 years toll pass which will integrate into users’ current FASTag accounts. This pass will also grant unlimited access to national highways and expressways, for the private car owners eliminating the need for frequent FASTag top-ups.

Annual Highway Pass: This pass will Valid for one year, covering unlimited toll payments. The priced of it is ₹3,000. The pass will integrated directly into existing FASTag accounts, eliminating the need for frequent recharges.

Lifetime Highway Pass: This pass will be available for a one-time payment of ₹30,000, and it will offer 15 years of unrestricted access to national highways and expressways.

Key Benefits of the New Toll System

  • Less Traffic: Faster toll processing means fewer long lines at toll plazas.
  • Saves Time: No need to stop repeatedly for toll payments, making your journey smoother.
  • More Affordable Travel: For regular travelers, this system offers significant savings on toll fees. To put it in perspective, the older monthly pass cost around ₹340 per month (₹4,080 annually) and was limited to just one toll plaza.
