A Major fire broke out at oldest market of Hayuliang town under Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh in the early morning of Thursday (January 30). However, no casualties reported.
Today at around 5 am, fire broke out at the oldest market of Arunachal Pradesh ‘s Hayuliang town and spread quickly from one shop to another, and engulf the entire. A total 15 shops gutted into the blaze.
Authorities have launched an investigation to find out what caused the fire, but it is still unclear. At Hayuliang there does not have fire station, So the fire tenders took one and half hours to from Hawai, the district headquarters. By the time they arrived, the market had already been destroyed.

Local MLA and Minister for Women & Child Development, Dasanglu Pul has assured to provide possible assistance to affected shopkeepers. Speaking to India NE today, Anjaw Deputy Commissioner Millo Kojin stated officials are assessing the damage and have started providing temporary relief.
Hayuliang Additional Deputy Commissioner Julity Mihu confirmed that the entire market, mostly made of wood and planks, was completely destroyed. The Indian Army helped control the fire and stop it from spreading further. Relief efforts will be based on the assessment by the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO).
