In yet another case of medical fraud, Cachar Police arrested a fake MBBS doctor identified as Roushan Ali in Sonai. The arrest took place on Friday evening from Arfaz Medical Hall located in Rangirghat 1st Block along the Sonai–Matingar Purt Road. This arrested of fake doctors is 12th number, in Cachar district of Assam.
According to sources, Roushan Ali, son of Abdul Manaf and a resident of Uttar Mohanpur 7th Block, had been illegally offering medical services to patients across several areas of the Sonai Assembly constituency, including Hatikhal, Kachudram, and Sonai Bazar, for a long time — despite having no recognized medical qualifications. He also running a pharmacy named Arfaz Medical Hall at the Sonai-Matinagar Road, Cachar.
The accused was caught red-handed by the police following credible information about his fake medical practice. Investigation also revealed that Roushan Ali was allegedly practices medicine by using fake medical services obtained from Bhopal and Patiala in Madhya Pradesh over a long time. He mentioned “Diploma in Community Medical Service and Essential Drugs (Baba Deep Singh Indo American Institute, Patiala)” on his prescription pad to falsely present himself as a qualified medical practitioner.
During a police raid conducted at Arfaz Medical Hall on Friday evening, officers examined his MBBS certificate and other documents, which confirmed that the degrees were fake and he is a fake doctor. Following the verification, Sonai Police arrested Roushan Ali and seized multiple fraudulent documents from the pharmacy.
According to reports, the accused had been illegally providing medical services at several locations, including Pari Medical, Munni Diagnostic, and other pharmacies across the Sonai area
Authorities have initiated further investigation to determine how long he had been operating and whether others were involved in the racket.
