Election Results 2023: The results for the Assembly elections in four states – Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh – are set to be revealed today, December 3. Additionally, Mizoram result of vote will declare on Monday, December 4.
Election Results 2023:Counting Commences at 8 am
At 8 a.m. on Sunday, the counting of votes started for the recently held assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana. Considered a semi-final to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, both the BJP and the Congress have strategically framed issues keeping the upcoming general elections in mind. Key focus areas include welfare schemes, potentially serving as a blueprint for their Lok Sabha manifestos.
High Stakes for BJP
The BJP, having secured victories in Gujarat and Tripura last year but facing defeats in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, is in need of wins to build momentum leading up to the Lok Sabha polls.
Election Results 2023: Exit Polls’ Projections
If the exit polls prove accurate, the Congress is likely to retain power in Chhattisgarh and challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana. While most polls favor the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, projections for Rajasthan vary. Mizoram, on the other hand, might witness a hung Assembly according to some predictions.
Checking Election Results on ECI website
Interested individuals can check the election results on the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI) – results.eci.gov.in. Result trends will be available from 8 am on Sunday. The Voter Helpline app, downloadable from the Google PlayStore for Android users and the Apple Store for iPhone users, will also provide access to the results.
Mizoram’s Deferred Counting
The decision to defer the counting in Mizoram made following representations to the ECI. The argument presented was that the original counting day, falling on a Sunday, coincides with church services. As Mizoram is a Christian-majority state, both rural and urban populations actively participate in Sunday church services.
Election Results 2023: State-wise Dynamics
Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan witnessed a direct contest between the BJP and Congress. The BJP currently holds power in Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress governs the other two states. Telangana is poised for its first non-Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, with the Congress projected to emerge victorious. In Mizoram, regional parties are expected to overshadow the influence of the two national parties.
