Dibrugarh Police continuing its investigation into the online trading scam linked to Sumi Borah, Bishal Phukan, and Tarkik Borah. As part of the inquiry, several YouTubers and digital content creators summoned for questioning.
As part of investigation, YouTuber and digital creator Aboyob Bhuyan was summoned by Dibrugarh Police. Aboyob Bhuyan took his Facebook platform and inform his followers about the summons. He stated, “I have been asked by Assam CID to appear for a statement regarding the Podcast we did with Sumi Borah a year back. Here at Dibrugarh Station for the same. I hope, speculations over several allegations will come to an end after this.”
Police also summon former journalist, youtuber Chakrapani Prashar to appear in Dibrugarh police station at 4 pm today. He has been summoned for interrogation.
The police also summoned another youtuber named Himashree Saikia, who previously faced accusations of promoting blind faith through her podcast. Saikia’s involvement in the case is being examined as part of the investigation.
Police are expected to record the statement of the youtubers. This statement will likely be important and it can help to identify the extent of the scam and other individual.
The Assam Online Trading scam, which drawn attention and arrested Sumi Borah, is investigating by Dibrugarh PS under Case No. 352/2024.
The case has involved under charges multiple section including Section 316(2)/318(4) of the BNS 2023, and the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Scheme Act, 2019.
