In a major crackdown on Pakistan-backed terror operations in India, the Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled a module allegedly directed by ISI-linked handler Shahzad Bhatti, a Pakistani national and notorious gangster. Three individuals—Hargunpreet Singh from Punjab, Vikas Prajapati from Datia in Madhya Pradesh, and Arif from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh—have been arrested for their involvement in terror-related activities.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kumar Kushwaha revealed that the arrested trio had recently carried out a hand grenade attack in front of the Gurdaspur City Police Station on November 25. During interrogation, Hargunpreet Singh confessed to executing the grenade attack under direct instructions from Bhatti.

According to officials, the group had conducted videography, surveillance, and reconnaissance at multiple locations where they planned to carry out similar grenade attacks. The investigation indicates that Bhatti managed and guided these operatives from Pakistan, recruiting young individuals via social media platforms and personal contacts to further terror activities in India.

Authorities have also uncovered that the module posed a threat to gangster Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in NIA custody.

Kushwaha added that one or two members of the module are still at large. Their identities and whereabouts will be shared with the Punjab Police for further coordinated action and imminent arrests.

The breakthrough marks a significant success for Indian security agencies in disrupting cross-border terror networks attempting to radicalize and deploy youth for violent attacks within the country.
