On Wednesday, late night a dacoit has injured in police encounter in Barpeta, Assam, when the dacoit attempt to rob an ATM in Sonkuchi colony. The dacoit identified as Magarav Ali.
The confrontation happened in Goroimari Pathar village during an effort to recover stolen money hidden by Ali.
Magarav Ali, a criminal known for multiple thefts and an ATM robbery, was arrested by the Barpeta Police on Wednesday. After his arrest, Ali took the police to the location where the stolen money was hidden. However, on the way there, Ali tried to escape and attacked Constable Nomal Gohain.
To caught Magarav Ali police open fire in Ali’s right leg to stop him flee from the area. Magarav Ali and Nomal Gohain were immediately taken to Barpeta Medical College Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.
