An Employee of Cotton University in Guwahati tragically beaten to death in an altercation with truck driver in Jorabat, Assam on Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Dhrubhajyoti Barman, worked as office superintendent at Cotton University.
According to information, At around 7:00 he was travelling to Tezpur in his Renault Triber from Guwahati’s Khanapara. However, his car was hit by a truck bearing registration NL 01 AH 2789 from behind.
According to reports, there was a dispute between the truck driver and Dhrubhajyoti after which he was hit by an iron rod , which caused his death. His body was found lying in front of the truck.
Initial investigations revealed that while there were signs of a collision at the back of the car, the damage was not severe enough to be the cause of his death.
His body has been taken for post mortem at Gauhati Medical College for an autopsy, and the report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
