The main aim of the CM’s Jibon Prerana Scheme is to support fresh graduates (2025 pass-outs) as they transition from education to employment. The initiative, spearheaded by the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department.
Benefit of Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme
Under this flagship scheme, eligible graduates from government and public institutions in Assam will receive ₹2,500 per month for one year, directly credited to their bank accounts.
What is Jibon Prerana Scheme in Assam?
Jibon Prerana Scheme in Assam is a welfare scheme to support the fresh unemployed graduate students by giving financial assistance of Rs. 2,500 per month to for competitive exams, pursue self-employment, or seek job opportunities — nurturing a skilled and self-reliant generation for a prosperous Assam. This is a part of mission to empower the youth and promote self-reliance by the Assam Government.

The key goals of the CM’s Jibon Prerana Scheme are to:

Speaking during the launch, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said,
“Since I became the Chief Minister, my focus has been on addressing the problems faced by our youth. This scheme ensures that financial constraints do not hinder their education or career growth.”
Eligibility Criteria for Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme
To apply for the CM’s Jibon Prerana Scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be permanent residents of Assam.
- Qualification: Fresh Graduate (2025 pass-out graduate from a government or public institution in Assam (state or central).
- Employment: The applicant must be currently unemployed.
Who are not Eligible?
- Students from private colleges or open universities are not eligible.
- Children of government employees (except Class IV staff).
- Children of ministers and MLAs.
- Children of government-registered contractors.
- Children of parents earning over ₹10 lakh annually.
