On November 13, By-polls or by election is going to take place in 5 constituency of Assam including Dholai constituency in Cachar. The other four constituency Sildli, Bongaigaon, Behali and Samaguri.
The Cachar administration has made all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth election process in Dholai. Strong rooms have established at the ISBT and ISTT premises in Ramnagar, Silchar. Since morning, EVMs and VVPATs have distributed to polling presiding officers and other election staff, who are now en-route to polling stations with the necessary election materials.
Cachar SP Numal Mahatta assured that with public support and a strong police presence, the Dholai by-election will run smoothly. He stated that police officers, including ICs and OCs, will station at all polling stations to keep security and order. He also stated that each polling station is coordinating with the police and following strict rules to ensure a smooth voting process. Extra police officers will assigned to certain polling stations for added security.
On November 13, In By-election a total of 1,97,662 voters are eligible to cast their votes in Dholai. Among the voters 99,756 voters are male and 97,885 voters are female and one is transgender.
At 208 polling station voting will take place across in Dholai, with polling station designated as high sensitive area. Near the Mizoram border 42 polling station are under special security measure.
Adding to it, “Irongmara Prathamik Vidyalaya” has been designated as a model polling station, where the station will operate by an all-women team.
