In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Cachar Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation at the Ashroy Hotel in Ghoongur under Silchar Police Station limits, leading to the recovery of suspected heroin weighing 78 grams.
Based on specific source information, police launched the operation late on Saturday and recovered six soap cases containing the suspected narcotic substance. The seized contraband is believed to be high-grade heroin, commonly trafficked through the Silchar region.
Two persons have been apprehended in connection with the case, and further interrogation is underway to identify the source and intended destination of the drugs.
