Cachar Police have arrested Badarul Islam, also known as Putul, for allegedly raped and acid attack a mother of two in Bhaga-Rajghat village. The arrest took place late on January 29 in the Kachudaram area.
According to information, on January 22, a woman of two children allegedly raped and attack with acid in front of her children by the accused in Bhaga-Rajghat village, Dholai, Cachar. The accused allegedly broke into the victim’s house while her husband was not at home. Reports said that the accused tied the victim hands and feet then he raped and poured acid in front of her children.
After committing the crime accused called the husband of the victim, to come home fast if he wanted to save her.
The husband of the victim arrived home and the six years old son informed him about the brutal attack.
Family rushed the critically injured victim to Dholai Primary Health Center, where the doctors advised them to take her to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. She is currently fighting for her life at SMCH. The victim’s body serve 70% burns of her body.
On January 23, the family of the victim filed an FIR against the accused at Dholai Police Station. On January 29, the accused was arrested by Cachar police.
However, Islam the accused the charges, claiming he did not try to kill the victim after being arrest. Instead, he alleged that the victim’s husband owed him money and refused to repay it, which is why he went to their home that night.
Despite his claims, the victim’s family insists that he forcibly entered their house, raped the woman in front of her children, and then poured a chemical on her. They also accused him of making threats even after committing the crime. The victim’s husband alleged that Islam had harassed his wife before and had threatened to “teach her a lesson” after an argument the day before the attack.
