Cachar Police arrested 5 Thieves in Silchar

In a major breakthrough, Cachar police arrested five notorious thieves from different parts of Silchars which are involved in a string of mugging activities across Silchar city of Assam.

Based on tip off, Cachar police conducted a special operation across Silchar and successfully arrested the culprits had been spreading fear across the town in recent days.

The police were on high alert following several incidents of mobile phone, gold, cash and other valuable things snatches in various parts of the city. These incidents had left Silchar residents anxious, prompting law enforcement to intensify their efforts to track down the thieves.

The arrested thieves identified as, Suresh Singh, Raj Yadav, Mukesh Yadav, Anish Yadav, and Sarban Saha, all are residents of Kishanganj, Bihar. Their arrested followed careful police work, as officers traced their movements across different areas of Silchar.

The suspects were presented in court on Wednesday, where the police were granted a three-day remand for further questioning. Further investigation is going on to collect more information about the gang’s operation.

This successful operation has brought relief to the town’s residents, who had been living in fear due to the muggings. Authorities hope the ongoing investigation will help dismantle any larger networks involved.
