Cachar district administration has officially declared March 15, 2025 as local holiday in observance of Dol Jatra (means Holi). On March 8, Cachar DC has released a notification with the announcement of the holiday.
The announcement was made following the Assam Government’s notification (E-File No. 221561/347-A, dated 06/12/2024), granting the district authorities the power to issue the holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
According to the order issued by Deputy Commissioner Shri Mridul Yadav (IAS), all state government offices, including revenue and judicial courts, educational institutions, and financial institutions across Cachar district will remain closed on this day.

What will remain closed on March 15 in Cachar during Holi
All State Government Offices (including Revenue Courts, Judges’ Courts)
All Educational Institutions.
Financial Institutions.
Emergency Services to remain open
Emergency services like Hospitals, Fire service, Police, Disaster Management will remain functional as usual.
Examination/written test/interview or any other related activities will be conducted as per the pre-scheduled time.
Authorities have also advised the public to remain mindful of safety measures to ensure a smooth and incident-free festivity.
