Bajaj Auto has launched world’s first CNG Bike ‘Freedom 125’ on July 5 in India. The bike will run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This Freedom 125 commuter bike will run by both petrol and CNG, aiming to reduce running costs for riders.
The new model will first be available in Maharashtra and Gujrat. Starting today, it can be booked at official dealerships or online.
Today, 5 July, Rajiv Bajaj, the managing director of Bajaj Auto, unveiled the CNG bike in Pune, in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, also present.

The Freedom 125, priced between ₹95,000 and ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bajaj Freedom helps riders cut their running costs by 50%, saving them more money. It has the longest seat in its class and a mono-linked suspension for better comfort. Bluetooth connectivity adds convenience.
The motorcycle has a small petrol tank and a CNG cylinder, letting riders switch between fuels with a handlebar switch. The CNG cylinder is placed under the petrol tank and blends smoothly with the bike’s design, making it look slightly different from other models. It has separate nozzles for filling CNG and petrol. It also has a 2-liter petrol tank and the CNG tank holds 2 kg.

The bike can run 102 km per kg of CNG, giving it a range of about 200 km on a full CNG tank. It also has a 2-liter petrol tank that provides over 130 km of range if the CNG runs out, according to the automaker.
The Freedom 125 has a 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with fuel injection, that produce 9.4 bhp and 9.7 Nm of torque. It features telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. The bike also has 17-inch alloy wheels.
Bajaj Freedom 125 has a modern-retro look with a round headlamp and a DRL. It features with a flat seat, a wide handlebar and center-set foot pegs for a comfortable riding position. The semi-digital instrument cluster shows various indicators, including a low CNG alert and a neutral gear indicator.
