On June 7, a businessman hailing from Karimganj, Assam, shot dead by some miscreants in Dimapur, Nagaland. It has said that he was one of the most the most prominent businessmen in Dimapur.
According to reports, a businessman named Abdul Kayum Talukdar age 60 years has shot three rounds of fire from close range on the chest by miscreants. After that, he was immediately rushed to the Faith hospital by the locals, but the doctor said he was brought dead. The bullet has hit the left side of the chest. Abdul Kayum Talukdar was one of the residents of Badarpur, Karimganj.
The incident occurred at around 9.30 p.m. on June 7 in the New Market area of Signal Bazar. It was also said that Abdul Kayum was Gaon Bura of New Market. Following the incident, local police arrived at the scene and started an investigation into the matter. The dead body sent for a postmortem.
Two armed assailants who came by a car shot him and fled from the scene. The accused has not identified yet. Now, a question has raised about the security of other businessmen in the area after the incident.
After the postmortem, the dead body of the businessman will sent to Badarpur for the last rites. The reason behind the incident, or why the miscreants shot the man, was not known yet.
The Dimapur Police actively investigating the matter. The New Market will remain closed Saturday.

I urge the authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. We stand in solidarity with the grieving family and community during this difficult time.”
