Assam is set to pay an emotional tribute to its legendary singer, Zubeen Garg, with a grand homage and justice rally in Guwahati on Sunday, October 19, marking one month since his tragic and untimely demise.
The tribute ceremony, which would be begun at 10 AM at Lakhidhar Bora Field, Dighalipukhuri, is expected to draw thousands of people from across the state. Political leaders, cultural icons, social organizations, and fans from every corner of Assam will come together to celebrate the life, legacy, and artistic contributions of the late music maestro.
The event is being jointly organized by a coalition of political and social groups, including the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, CPI (M), CPI, CPI (ML), All India Forward Bloc (Assam Unit), Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Raijor Dal, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the Trinamool Congress (Assam Unit).
Several prominent figures such as Gaurav Gogoi, Suprakash Talukdar, Kanak Gogoi, Vivek Das, Mihir Nandi, Akhil Gogoi, Dr. Bharen Choudhury, Lubinjyoti Gogoi, Dulu Ahmed, and Ajit Kumar Bhuyan are expected to attend and lead the gathering.
Organizers have issued open invitations to students, teachers, local clubs, and the general public, urging everyone to join hands in paying respects peacefully to the late singer.
