Assam Police along with CBI arrest the mastermind of Barak Valley Trading Scam from Kolkata and today March 27, the accused were brought in Badarpur.
Today, Assam Police brought the trading scam mastermind Sakir Ahmed from Kolkata, where he was arrest along with his brother Md. Jabir by the police based on a tip off. He was arrested on March 25 in Mukundapur, Kolkata. He is involved in Rs 400 Crore trading scam in Barak Valley a part of Assam.
According to report, Sakir and his network collected money from individuals across Barak Valley (Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi District) under the pretense of online trading. He tricked thousands of people by promising high profits on their investments. After scamming investors, he went into hiding. Reports say he scammed people out of hundreds of crores before fleeing.
A case (No. 543/2024) was previously filed against Sakir at Sribhumi, where he allegedly started the fraudulent trading scheme.
Additionally, another accused, Rajdeep Dey named in connection with the scam. He is currently absconding. Further crackdown is going on to arrest Rajdeep and other possible people connection of trading scam.
