Assam Government has launched CM-FLIGHT (Chief Minister – Foreign Language for Global Human Talent), which aims to provide young Assamese Students learn foreign languages and find global job opportunities.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the scheme today through an event, with a representative from the Japanese government who also attending the event.

The Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated during inauguration program a government job in Assam may pay around ₹40,000 per month, trained professionals working overseas could earn up to ₹1.5 lakh per month.

He also mentioned that many young people from Nepal are already working successfully in Japan. So, this program aims to creates similar opportunities for students from Assam.

He stated that Under CM-FLIGHT Scheme 50,000 students from Assam will receive language training to qualify for Japan. Addition to that 10 Administration will be trained in the Japanese language.

The Total Cost of the cost is 1.8 lakh.

Financial support by the Government

Out of the total cost of the course, ₹1 lakh will be paid by the Assam government

₹50,000 by the Japanese government

Remaining ₹30,000 can be taken as a loan from Axis Bank.

The Chief Minister said the scheme mainly aims to support students from poor families, calling it a golden opportunity for Assam’s youth to build global careers.

How to apply for the CM-FLIGHT Scheme 2025

Those who want to apply go through the Assam Women University Website, which provides the facility to learn Foreign languages under the CM Flight Scheme

On the official website of Assam Women’s University, it is mentioned that, in collaboration with MIRAI Japanese Learning Centre

Participants will receive a training certificate and job placement opportunities in Japan within 12 months of completing the program.

All 12th pass youth who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the scheme.

The program will also provide support and guidance for visa processing, accommodation, and cultural integration during the skill training period.
