A team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam trapped red handed and arrested two Government officials, one of them is BDO officer on Friday, August 16.
According to reports, on August 16, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam launched an operation based on complaint alleging that the BDO of Srijangram Development Block in Bongaigaon in conspiracy with an assistant BDO had demanded Rs. 36,000 as bribe from the complainant for payment against bills.
They first trapped red handed and arrested Nekib Ahmed, Assistant BDO, Srijangram Development Block, Dist-Bongaigaon, Assam after he accepted Rs 16,000/- as bribe in the office chamber of Khurseeda Khanam, BDO, for payment against bills.
In the same trap operation, Khurseeda Khanam, APRDS, BDO, Srijangram Development Block, Dist- Bongaigaon has also been apprehended for demanding bribe and accepting through Assistant BDO, in conspiracy with him.
The vigilance team launch search operation at BDO house at Dibrugarh. During the search operation the team managed to recovered and seized Rs.14 Lakh.
