A shocking incident took place in the area of Habichuk, Jorhat district, Assam where a man attempt to sexually assault a four years old girl.
The man identified as Ashok Balmiki (50 years), a sweeper at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) was thrashed by locals. The parents of the minor were a daily laborer, had left their six-month-old and four-year-old daughters at home. The accused who is a neighbour and tenant, allegedly lured the children into his room and behaved inappropriately with them.
An eyewitness shared the details, which led locals to tie Balmiki to a pole and beat him before handing him over to the police.
A video shows the victim crying, saying, “He got on top of me and touched me inappropriately. My older sibling saw him taking me and my six-month-old sister to his room.”
The police arrested the accused and launched an investigation into the case.
