A major crack down against drugs in Assam. Cachar police has conducted a special operation yesterday (18 May) night. There they managed to seized 10.333 kg of heroin transported from neighbouring state.
The estimate of the seized items worth would be Rs.105 Crore. Three person has been arrested in connection of it. One them is woman.
Cachar police has launched the operation in Silchar-Aizwal Bypass near Atal village area on Saturday night. A vehicle was intercepted by the police which was coming from Mizoram. From the vehicle the police recovered 60 soap cases containing 10.333 kg of heroin.

Today CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took his official social media platform X and post by stating, โIn a major crackdown on the drugs network,@cacharpolice conducted a special operation and confiscated 10.333kg heroin transported from a neighbouring State.
Imagine the countless lives saved through this seizure. We are committed to working 24/7 to ensure our youths do not fall into this trap. Good Job @assampolice.โ
The heroin seizure highlights the serious problem of drug trafficking in the area. This operation is part of a larger plan to break up drug networks and keep the people of Assam safe and healthy.
Earlier, on 16 May (Thursday) night Cachar Police seized 10 soap cases containing 128 grams of drugs from Tarapur area of Silchar, Cachar. In it two person arrested who is identified as M.D Ali and Rohoman.
