On the late night of Sunday, a 14 years old girl rescued in Dimapur from the an empty house in the office line area of Bargolai, under Margerita police station. Reportedly she had been held captive for two weeks by 60 years old man. The man is identified as Bikash. His presence in the area has raised concerns among locals.
According to reports, the rescue operation carried out after two local youth, Prabhu Sai Horo and Raja Rao informed about it to authorities. Margerita police along with district child protection officer Shyam Upadhyay reached the location and secured the girl’s release.
Another separate incident came out from Bargolai’s Bashbari area, where a 6 years old boy reported missing, prompting immediate child trafficking ring in the region. Authorities are treating both cases immediately, with investigation is underway. Police also launch operation to trace the missing child and also ascertain whether the two incidents are linked.
