At least 12 people died and 15 other injured after a Road Accident took place in Badrinath Highway in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand on 15 June. The accident occurred when a tempo traveller fell into deep George and landed in the Alaknanda River.
After receiving the information about the incident, administration officials have arrived at the scene immediately. The SDRF officer said that the death toll is likely to be rise. The rescue operation is going on.
The incident took place at around 11.00 am, today and was in its way to Chopta.
The passenger who injured seriously are being airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh. The CM Pushkar Singh instructed to the concerned official for better treatment of the injured. Ambulance are carrying the injured people in the nearest hospital.
The vehicle was carrying passengers from Delhi. The people of the tempo traveller were travelling from Delhi to Chopya Tungnath. In this vehicle there were more than 26 people including the driver.
Regarding Uttarakhand Road Accident, Rudraprayag SP Dr. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane stated that they received information about a Tempo Traveller falling into a gorge near Raintoli in Rudraprayag. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately reached the site and assessed the situation. Currently, a joint rescue operation is underway by local residents, district police, SDRF, fire service, district disaster management, and water police.โ
CM Pushkar Singh Shows Sad on Uttarakhand Road Accident
Reacting to the incident CM Pushkar Singh stated, โVery sad news was received about a tempo traveler accident in Rudraprayag district.
The local administration and SDRF teams engaged in relief and rescue operations. The injured have sent to the nearest medical center for treatment. The District Magistrate has ordered to investigate the incident.
I pray to God to grant the souls of the departed a place in His feet. And provide strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense pain. I pray to Baba Kedar for the speedy recovery of the injured.โ
