A devastating snow collapse struck near Mana Village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, trapping 55 BRO workers under snow on Friday morning. So far, 47 workers have been rescued, while rescue operation is going on to locate 8 other workers, who still trapped under the snow.

The Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari stated on Saturday morning that four Army Choppers have been added into rescue operation to save the eight workers who are still trapped under the snow in the avalanche struck near Mana Village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli.
He also stated that the seven worker among the rescued workers have been brought to Joshimath Hospital, and they are under treatment.
When Uttarakhand Avalanche took place
The snowslide buried the BRO camp between Mana and Badrinath in the early hours of Friday. Friday. Rescue teams faced harsh weather, deep snow, and rough terrain to reach the trapped workers. They first managed to rescue 10 workers and later saved more. The Army reported that the avalanche occurred between 5:30 am and 6 am, trapping workers inside eight containers and one shed.
Over 100 personnel from the Ibex Brigade, trained for high-altitude rescue, were immediately deployed along with doctors and ambulances to carry out the operation.

Chamoli District Magistrate stated, โthirty-three people rescued initially on Friday, out of which three were critically injured. They were treated at Manaโs Army Hospital, and today, they have been brought to the Military Hospital in Joshimath.โ
He also, โToday, 14 more workers were rescued, bringing the total number of rescued to 47. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing with full force.โ
