Assam Police on November 13, arrested six Bangladeshi Nationals in Karimganj and sent back them.
The individual identified as Tarique Anowar, Dayal Mall, Monu Mall, Shajahan Mia, Jainab Sapuria, and Khalimur Mall.
These Bangladeshi individuals are arrested in Karimganj district of Assam, where the districts share its border with Bangladesh. In this area cross-border movement have historically been a challenge.
Officials has confirmed that the detains individual were interrogated before deported back them to Bangladesh.
Their deportation was carried out with the help of border security agencies to ensure a safe and smooth handover across the international border.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said via X, โStriking illegal infiltration 6 illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators were apprehended in Karimganj by @assampolice and sent back across the border Tarique Anowar, Dayal Mall, Monu Mall, Shajahan Mia, Jainab Sapuria and Khalimur Mall, Good job Team!โ
Illegal immigration also poses a challenge in Assam, which for centuries has shared both cultural and geographical ties with her counterpart Bangladesh.
The Assam authority is strengthening its security along the border to make their detection and deportation process effective and efficient in order to maintain the current stability of that region.
