Silchar Lok Sabha Constituency ready to witness up for 2nd phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 which will take place on April 26. For this election a total of 1,551 polling stations designated for voters to exercise their rights. Notably, 210 of these stations will be exclusively staffed by female officials.

Administrative Arrangements
The Silchar Lok Sabha constituency, covering 7 Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs), is gearing up for elections. Yesterday, officials, including presiding officers and polling personnel, departed for their designated polling stations across Dholai, Lakhipur, and Katigorah, totaling 610 polling stations.
Preparation at ISBT
This year, the ISBT in Ram Nagar serves as the stronghold for storing election materials. Since early morning, election officials have been gathering at the ISBT, procuring Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and other necessary accessories for a smooth conduct of the election.
Workforce Deployment
This year a total of 7,172 Government employees has been assigned diverse election duties.
Silchar Lok Sabha Election 2024 Security Measures
To ensure the maintenance of law and order, a deployment comprising Assam Police, CRPF, ITBP, and 20 units of BSF has been instituted.
The 2nd phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 will take place in 5 Lok Sabha constituency out 14. The Constituency are Darrang-Udalguri, Silchar, Karimganj, Nagaon, Diphu. The Lok Sabha Polling will start from 7 am to 6 pm. The voters of this constituency be ready for big event.
