PM Narendra Modi during his Mann Ki Baat, stated about Sachet App launched by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). This app is designed to give the real time disaster alerts.
PM Stated that, “The most important thing in dealing with any natural disaster is your alertness. You can now get help in this alertness from a special app on your mobile. This app can save you from getting trapped in any natural disaster — its name is ‘Sachet’.”
What is Sachet App?
Sachet MobileApp, launched by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is an appto provide real time alerts about natural disasters. User can receives alerts for their current location or choose any state or place in India to stay informed.
The app send warnings from official from official government sources to help the public prepare for possible disasters. It also provides daily weather updates and forecasts from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
In addition the app also provide Dos & Don’ts during natural disasters
It also provide helpline number.
The app can be used in 12 languages.
