A robbery incident took place in Katigorah road in Cachar district, Assam. Father and Daughter, along with auto rickshaw driver was on their home at late night in that they robbed in the road. The dacoit robbed an iPhone, three mobile phones and cash from them.
According to reports, on June 20, the victim father Khalil Uddin Laskar and his daughter were on their way to home from Badarpur Railway station. Khalil Uddin Daughter worked at Bangalore and returned home that day, so he went to Railway Station to pick up his daughter. But, on the way to home from Badarpur at around 1.00 am their Auto-Rikshaw was blocked by 5-6 armed miscreants or Dacoit by using fishing net. This dacoit threatened them with sharp weapon and looted all the items.
When the dacoit saw another vehicle approaching behind they fled from the scene. The incident took place on TRK Road near the Gobindpur GP Office.
Complaint Filed at police station on Cachar Robbery
Khalil Uddin Laskar immediately went to the Police station and filed a report to Arunachal police on Thursday night. Later this case was transferred to Katigorah Police Station next morning. Following the case a police team went to the scene and initiate an investigation. The police have launched search operation to arrest them.
Speaking to the media, Khalil Uddin Laskar said, “When we got to Gobindapur, we saw that the road was blocked with fishing nets tied between an electric pole and a tree. I told the auto driver to slow down and stop. As soon as we stopped, armed men surrounded our auto and put a machete on my shoulder. One of them demanded we hand over all our belongings or face serious consequences. They took all three mobile phones, including my daughter’s iPhone. They even searched our trolley bag for valuables. Suddenly, an Alto car approached at high speed, and the men saw its headlights and fled the scene.”
This incidents highlights insecurity on Katigorah road. People who are travelling on the way of Katigorah Road in the late night be aware as Dacoit are blocking the road and looting the vehicles.
According to reports the Katigorah area is under floods now. Many incidents on the area also remain unreported be aware!
