For this special occasion, Prime Minister Modi donned a traditional tribal outfit, including a turban and ‘ranga’ (upper body garment). He actively participated in an ‘aarti’ ceremony at the Shiva-Parvati temple, located alongside the picturesque banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong. The spiritual ambience was enhanced as he blew a conch shell during the ceremony.

Local Connections and Exhibition Visit

Accompanied by local priests Virendra Kutiyal and Gopal Singh, Prime Minister Modi reached the Adi Kailash peak, where he engaged in brief meditation. He continued his journey to the border village of Gunji, where he interacted warmly with the locals. Here, an exhibition showcasing local products and artifacts added a cultural touch to the visit. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined Modi for this event, and both leaders received a traditional and hospitable welcome from the locals.

The spiritual journey continued as Prime Minister Modi participated in a puja at Jageshwar Dham, performed a ‘parikrama’ (circumambulation) around the Jyotirlinga, and engaged in meditation at this sacred site, further reinforcing his spiritual connection to the region.
Developmental Focus: Foundation Stones and Public Address
Returning to Pithoragarh, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects valued at โ‚น4,200 crore. This marks a significant commitment to the state’s progress and growth. The day culminated with a public meeting at the S S Waldia Sports Stadium, where the Prime Minister addressed the public, emphasizing the importance of development and progress in this scenic region of India.
