Prime Minister Modi’s Two Day Tour to Inaugurate Rs 50,000 Crore Projects in Four States

During the visit he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for around 50 projects worth Rs 50,000 crore. The objective of this initiative is to boost infrastructure development and promote economic growth in these states.
Focus on Accelerating Infrastructure Growth: PM Modi
- PM Modi aims to showcase achievements and prioritize timely completion of projects, with a focus on states where assembly polls are scheduled in the coming months. The council of ministers received a presentation from the infrastructure ministries, outlining the schedule until the implementation of the mode of conduct for the 2024 general elections, including the details of nearly 900 projects with an investment of over Rs 13 lakh crore.
Major Infrastructure Initiatives to Drive Economic Progress
- Signature Projects and Development Milestones to Propel Growth
The initiative aims to inaugurate around 560 projects with a total cost of approximately Rs 7.6 lakh crore by February-March 2024. Additionally, the government will lay foundation stones for the remaining 350 projects which represent an investment of approximately Rs 5.6 lakh crore across states.
Around 60 to 65 projects, known as signature projects, such as the Chenab Bridge, Pamban Railway Bridge, Sone Bridge, Dwarka Expressway, Ankleshwar-Baroda stretch of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Gorakhpur-Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojna, have costs exceeding Rs 5,000 crore or hold strategic importance.

During his two-day tour, PM Modi will inaugurate key projects like the Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway and a new section of the dedicated freight corridor from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to Son Nagar. He will also visit Raipur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Warangal for various project inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies.
