NIA is conducting a raids in Assam, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi in the case related to activities of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit group. On October 5, NIA apprehended 8 suspected individual in connection of JeM terrorist outfit group
In Assam the raid was carried out in the Krishnai area of Goalpara, where security forces targeted a suspected hideout of the terror group.
Goalpara Superintendent of Police, Nabaneet Mahanta, said the detainees are suspected of being involved in activities related to the terror group, such as recruitment, fundraising, and planning attacks.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, โToday NIA as conducted a nationwide operation against Islamic fundamentalists. The Assam police were also given the responsibility and apprehended eight people and handed over them to the NIA.โ
Goalpara Superintendent of Police, Nabaneet Mahanta told to ANI, โthe operation is underway at Krishnai, Agia areas in Goalpara district. Few people have been picked up for interrogation.โ
