PM Modi wishes Mohammed Shami
Today, 27 February PM Narendra Modi took her X account and post a wishes for Mohammed Shami. He post by stating, โWishing you a speedy recovery and good health Mohammed Shami! I’m confident you’ll overcome this injury with the courage that is so integral to you.โ
For his operation he cannot play IPL 2024. It also raised question regarding his availability for the T20 World Cup schedule which will fall in the month of June.
The operation was done because of the injury which occurred during the Indiaโs defeat to Australia in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, 2023. For this reason he was also kept out of action for the extended period. He not only absent for this series. Shami also not avail to play in the T20 series against Australia and the tour of South Africa.
This year team hopes for the return of him for the test series against England but he canโt because the injury necessitated surgical intervention.
He last play in the ODI World cup final against Australia in November. Shami, who got 24 wickets in India’s great World Cup run, played with pain because of landing issues but didn’t let it affect how well he played.
Now, he won’t be playing in the next Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. This is bad news for the Gujarat Titans team because Shami was their top bowler. Shami helped Gujarat Titans do well in the last two seasons. He got 20 wickets in 2022 and did even better in IPL 2023, taking 28 wickets at an average of 18.64. Shami was especially good at taking wickets early in the game.
