On June 3, a tragic incident took place where a boat carrying 9 passenger overturn in flood water where one teenage was recovered dead and 5 missing in Sonai, Cachar. On June 4, The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) recovered the missing four people dead body and the other two recovered on Monday.
The incident took place in near Amjurpar area of Sonai, Cachar at around 12.45 pm when heavy rain and strong wind hit the area. The boat carried 9 passenger from Madhurbandi village and was on the route of Sonai Bazar. When the boat overturn four people of the boat clung on the electricity pole until the rescue team arrived. But 6 people drowned in the flood water. NDRF team has recovered only two people dead on June 4 and rest was missing.
Yesterday, they managed to recovered the four people dead body from the area. The victims of this incident identified as Arif Ahmed age 25, Taibur Rahman age 32, Abul Hasan Ahmed age 35, Amir Uddin Ahmed age 54, jamal Uddin Ahmed age 55 and Manowar Hussain age 13.
After recovering the dead body taken for post mortem. On Tuesday afternoon the dead transported the body to home for the last rite. Despite the accident of boat took place, the bereaved family has no option but to take the dead body to their home.
This incident highlights the seriousness of the route to their village which is full water due to heavy rain and cause flood.
