Ongoing Search: Minor Boy Swept Away in Drain Amid heavy Rain in Guwahati

A heartbreaking incident has taken place in the Guwahati city of Assam. On July 4, Thursday night a minor boy swept away by water of roadside drain in the area of Jyoti Nagar, Guwahati.

On 6 July, a sandal has recovered from the drain but they could find the little boy Avilash.

The boy is still missing missing. The search is going on in the area of Jyoti Nagar. The SDRF team is still searching in the drain where the little boy washed away.

According to reports, the minor boy identified as Avilash Sarkar 8 years old. He and his father was returning home on a scooter and another man during heavy rainfall last night. Due to heavy rain the road also become slippery. Suddenly, due to slippery road, the scooter slipped and the boy who was sitting in the middle fell into the drain. In an instant, the strong current of the drain carried hum away.

To save the little boy the father also jumped in the drain, but he couldn’t able to find.

After the incident the father immediately informed Chandmari Police station about it. Police along with SDRF team immediately rushed at the scene. They launched search operation to rescue the boy at night. The search operation still continuing but till now they did not find the boy. The local residents also searching the drains in the area of Milonpur and Jyoti Nagar area.

The entire area is in shocked and mourning. Avilash Sarkar is a residents of Bhawani Pur in Noonmati. He has finished his first unit test exam the previous day and on Thursday went to father shop during the day time. But in the time of returning with his father this incident took place.

Because heavy rainfall Many areas of Guwhatai has logged with flood water. People of Guwahati need to stay alert and safe.
