A drunken man killed his 13 years old niece with axe at Powai Tea Garden, Digboi under Amalgamated Tea Company.
The incident took place on last night. It occurred in the midst of Durga Puja Festival, which brought celebratory atmosphere across the state, where workers are enjoying the festival with bonus.
According to reports, on that day the accused man, identified as Mithun Bhumji allegedly consumed large quantity of alcohol and in drunken stage, he attacked his niece with an axe. This attacked wounding her around the neck.
Digboi Police arrest the accused Mithun Bhumji from the incident place. The child body was recovered and send it to Tinsukia for post mortem examination.
