After a long time, Rajkumar Santoshi is teaming up with Aamir Khan and Sunny Deol for the new film, ‘Lahore 1947’. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, this film brings together some of the biggest names in the industry. It’s a special project as it marks the 17th production under Aamir Khan Productions.

The announcement made on Instagram by Aamir Khan Productions, expressing excitement about the collaboration with Sunny Deol and the renowned director Raj Kumar Santoshi.
He post, “I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favourite directors Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching. We seek your blessings (sic).”

About the film Lahore 1947

Aamir Khan himself is producing the film under Aamir Khan Production. While Rajkumar Santoshi will direct the film. Sunny Deol takes on the lead role.
The title of the film suggest that the film will connect with patriotism to appeal to a broader audience. Fans got very exited for the film and predicted that this could be another blockbuster film.

Aamir Khan is set to collaborate again with his “Laal Singh Chaddha” co-star, Mona Singh. But this time in the dual role of producer and actor. Sunny Deol is cast as Mona Singh’s husband in the film titled “Lahore 1947,” based on Asghar Wajahat’s renowned play ‘Jisne Lahore nahi dekhya, wo Jamye nahi.’

The play’s narrative revolves around a Muslim family relocating from Lucknow to Lahore, inheriting a haveli previously owned by a Hindu family. Tensions arise when they discover an elderly Hindu woman still residing in the mansion.

In the film, Mona Singh will portray Sunny Deol’s wife, and their on-screen pairing is anticipated to bring a natural and authentic touch to this emotional partition drama. Interestingly, the trio of Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Santoshi, and Sunny Deol has been part of six films with three box office clashes.

But On January 24, Preity Zinta was spotted leaving a studio in Mumbai after undergoing a look test. According to an exclusive source, it has been learned that Zinta took the look test for the film ‘Lahore 1947’ and is highly likely to make her comeback alongside Sunny Deol in this movie.

So, it is not known who will be playing the co-actoress opposite of Sunny Deol in Lahore 1947.
The duo Sunny Deol and Preeti Zinta has previously shared the screen in films such as ‘Hero: Love Story of a Spy,’ ‘Farz,’ ‘Bhaiyaji Superhit,’ and more.

During a recent appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8,’ Sunny Deol was questioned about the collaboration. In response, he shared, “When Aamir Khan attended the success party of ‘Gadar 2,’ he approached me expressing his desire to meet. Curious about the reason, we met the next day, discussed various ideas, explored potential collaborations, and eventually, this project materialized. That’s how it all came together.”

This project is not the first for Santoshi and Deol; they have previously delivered box office hits like ‘Ghayal,’ ‘Damini,’ and ‘Ghatak’. The film, ‘Lahore 1947,’ holds significance as it reunites Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. The team is looking forward to an enriching journey, and Aamir Khan Productions seeks blessings for this exciting venture.
