Kuwait Fire Incident: 41 Indian among 49 died, 0ver 50 injured

Kuwait Fire incident: At least 49 people died and over 50 people injured where a fire broke out in at a labour six-storey building in Mangaf, Kuwait. Among the died people 45 are Indian. Around people has been rescued from the building. The Fire started in early June 12 at around 6 am of Local time.

On 14, June the dead body of the people who died in Kuwait fire accident arrive in the Cochin International Airport. Unioun Minister Suresh Gopi and others political leaders pays their respects to the bodies of the people who died in the incident.

The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke with Foreign Minister of Kuwait Addullah Ali AI-Yahya, who informed him about the actions taken by Kuwait authorities. An eyewitness to the fire tragedy in Kuwait “Most of them tried to jump from the second floor because of the heavy smoke and difficulty breathing,” says Sharafudheen Kanneth”.

On 13 June, on the direction of Pm Narendra Modi, Mos MEA Kirti Vardhan Singh arrives in Kuwait and meet sic injured Indians who admitted in Jaber hospital. Indian Embassy of Kuwait said all of them are safe.

On 12 June, after the incident India Embassy Adarsh Swaika visited the AI-Adan hospital where over 30 injured Indian workers injured. He also meet some of them.

According to officials, the fire started in a kitchen which spreads through the out the buildings. It is reported that in this building about 195 people lived it. They are all from Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian and Nepali nationals. They all are employee of the NBTC group company.

Mejor General Eid AI-Owaihan, head of the Interior Ministryโ€™s General Department of Criminal said majority of the deceased were Indian nationals from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and northern India. Among dead person it has said that 24 are from Kerala. The age of the deceased would be between 20 to 50 years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Announced ex-gratia for the Indian for deceased family of Kuwait Fire incident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sorrow at the unfortunate incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. He wished speedy recovery of those injured. 

He stated, โ€œThe fire mishap in Kuwait City is saddening. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their near and dear ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and working with the authorities there to assist the affected.โ€

He also announced ex- gratia relief of Rupees 2 lakh to the families of the deceased India nationals from Prime Minister Relief Fund.
